June Havens (Cameron Diaz) should have settled for a later flight. It would have made her life a whole lot easier. But she insisted, and they managed to find her a seat on a nearly empty plane with Roy Miller (Tom Cruise) and a dozen assassins. Single and lonely, June is on the way to her sister April’s wedding when she meets the charming Roy Miller – super spy extraordinaire. While she’s in the plane bathroom, Roy is attacked by the rest of the passengers, including the two pilots. In self-defense, Roy kills them all, including the two pilots. June tries to come to terms with the odd situation as Roy lands the plane before they crash. After landing in a nearby cornfield Roy explains to a drugged June that she has to watch out for men who claim to be in the FBI. They’ll try to get her alone so they can question her about Roy. They’ll claim he’s a rogue agent, crazy beyond belief, or dangerous. All June has to do is claim she’s never met Roy Miller, and she’ll be safe. But things don’t work out as he planned. While being questioned, June lets slip that she does know Roy, and because of that, they’ll try to kill her. Now it’s stay with Roy or risk being killed by his agency, and at first June doesn’t know which is more appealing. Dozens of armed assassins attack the both of them, all trying to get the same thing: an all-powerful battery worth millions of dollars. Roy wants it to be in the right hands, and will do anything to protect it, and its creator. June comes along for the ride – not sure if she can really trust Roy or not – and adjust to life with him – even though she’s never sure wha she should believe.

I went to see this in theaters on a rainy day. Sigh. I’m reviewing it on a day that’s hotter than the surface of the sun. Currently I’m on a blogging spree, listening to iTunes, and sticking my face right up close to a fan. And it’s still too hot to really concentrate. Back on track, the movie. Movie, movie, movie. Well, it was pretty good. The plot itself was a little far-fetched, but that didn’t keep me from enjoying it. Some of the super spy clichés were a little too out-there, but I still thought it was cool. So I guess points off for not making it very believable, but not too many points, because it made the movie interesting and pretty epic. The acting of Tom Cruise as Roy was especially good, and very believable. Cameron Diaz as June wasn’t as good as Tom Cruise’s but was still really good. The scenery at times was really beautiful. From tropical islands to cities in Austria the locations were mostly breath-taking. So that was a plus of the movie. The script of the movie was pretty clever, too. Parts made me laugh and others made me laugh harder, and others made me go “aww”. Overall, I think it was a pretty decent action-romance with funny parts and sad parts and parts that made me cringe. I would recommend it to people who love a good action movie with a little love and comedy thrown in. Who doesn’t like that? Not the bet movie I’ve ever seen, but worth watching.
