I had seen the previews to this over and over last summer. It looked decent so I watched the first episode and had an epiphany. I had never been a big follower of TV shows. I was never faithful but I liked this show so much that a made a vow that I would stick with it. I love this show. It has a cop/lawyer show feel to it, but it also has a decent amount of comedy and non-cop show values which makes this show different from others. Brooke Elliott is absolutely amazing with her portrayal of Jane/Deb. She plays the role really well, especially when she has to play a scene where Deb comes out in Jane and vice versa, so it’s like she’s playing two people at once. She also has an amazing singing voice which is featured in the show. Margaret Cho once in a while though steals the show. She plays the bitter but comic secretary of Jane Bingum. Her comic relief never fails to make me laugh. Then the rest of the cast all have amazing talent and make the show what it is. The show really gives insight to the life of a plus size women which is a very common occurrence today in America. Besides this Jane goes through other troubling times that has to do with family and love. As a result, you can really latch on and relate to Jane, making this show a learning and entertaining experience. The show also stars famous actors as guest stars, such as Paula Abdul and Rosie O’Donnell.
