Just so everybody knows I LOVE JOHNNY DEPP. I know that it’s a bias but i will give my full thoughts on the movie. I had never even heard of this movie until my parents brought it home from one of those five dollar bins in WalMart. I kept pushing it aside for a while until I finally forgot about it. Then one rainy day I was in the mood for some amazing acting but I didn’t want to watch a three hour movie. The shortest Johnny Depp movie had was this one. So I put it in, scared at what I would find. This movie stole my heart. All the characters were lovable because of their little twitches and they were wonderfully played. Mary Stuart Masterson totally surprised me with her wonderful acting as Joon. She really made me believe that there was something wrong with her. Then when Johnny Depp entered my heart melted. Anything he did was amazing. His acting was good, he was fairly new on the market. He was developing into the actor he is today. This is one of his classic roles. He plays Sam perfectly. He makes everything Sam does seem goofy and real. Then when you put these two quirky characters together you get an absolute phenomenon. I am exaggerating a little, it’s a good movie but not a blockbuster like Titanic or anything. It’s simply a fantastic movie. The chemisty between Joon and Sam is so evident it’s like you can see it. Not only is this movie romantic, it’s hilarious. Johnny Depp provides lots of comic relief in the role of Sam. He makes the cinemaphile, this funny almost clown like character become Joon’s best friend and truly her soulmate (sorry about the cheesiness!) I couldn’t say anything bad about this movie it is really a hidden gem to this generation.
Real Teen Rating~ A : You MUST watch this movie!!
